Is There a Grocery Store in Jasper, Arkansas? Where to Stock Your Kitchen
July 20, 2026
Yes. Jasper is small, but it isn't without one — Harps Food Store sits right on Highway 7 in the middle of town. If you've booked a suite with us, or the entire lodge for a family reunion or a long weekend with friends, you don't need to plan a special grocery run the way you might for a bottle of wine. Here's where to shop, and when to time it.
Harps Food Store — the everyday stop
Harps is a full, everyday grocery store: produce, meat, dairy, pantry staples, the basics you'd want on hand for a week of home-cooked breakfasts or a group dinner in the lodge kitchen.
Address: 613 E Hwy 7, Jasper, AR 72641
Phone: (870) 446-2381
Hours: Generally 6am–9pm daily, though it's worth calling ahead if you're arriving late or on a holiday, since small-town hours can shift.
It's a couple of minutes off Highway 7, right in town — easy to swing by on your way in, or mid-stay if you're running low on coffee creamer or eggs.
Dollar General — for the quick stuff
For ice, snacks, paper towels, or anything you forgot, Dollar General is open later than Harps:
Address: 405 E Court St, Jasper, AR 72641
Hours: Generally 7am–10pm daily
Planning a bigger stock-up? Harrison has the wider selection
If you're cooking for the whole lodge — sixteen guests, three generations, a full weekend of meals — you may want a bigger cart than Jasper's stores are built for. Walmart Supercenter in Harrison, about 19 miles and a 28–30 minute drive via AR-7 N, is the closer full-size option for bulk buys, specialty ingredients, or a bigger produce selection.

If you're after organic produce specifically, or you're cooking for anyone gluten-free, dairy-free, or otherwise particular, Harrison also has Nature's Wonders, a health-food grocer with an all-organic produce section and a wide range of specialty and bulk goods.

Since Harrison is also where you'd stop for alcohol (Newton County is dry — see our guide to that on the blog), it's easy to combine both errands into one stop on your way into town.
The practical tip
Every suite here has its own in-room fridge, and the entire lodge has a full kitchen and dining space built for a group. Most guests either stock up in Jasper on arrival day — Harps is right on Highway 7, barely out of the way — or handle the bigger shop in Harrison before they arrive, then top up locally as needed.
Planning a stay where you do your own cooking?
Whether it's a quiet weekend for two or the entire lodge for a family reunion, Sommer House Inn's vacation rental setup means a real kitchen is part of the stay — not an afterthought. Stock up in town, and settle in.
